Last year I was really interested in the brand Library of Fragrance. They have a large range of scents that you can wear alone or mix together to create your own personal Fragrance. Their collection ranges from scents such as; Peach, Gin and Tonic, and Thunderstorm, to Play-doh, rain, Paperback and Fresh laundry and Sex on The Beach.
I could be there all day trying to decide on only one. Back in December 2014, I was lucky enough to have been ‘scent’ a bottle of Moonbeam cologne spray. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t help myself.
A Fast Favourite
I was really excited to try it out and it’s become a fast favourite. I’ve worn it every day since it arrived and it’s even become a handbag essential. (Update – They’ve brought out smaller, 15ml, handbag friendly spray bottles). The fact that it’s a cologne and not a perfume makes it perfect for everyday wear. I like applying again throughout the day, or night, and its fine mist applies evenly.
The packaging is very chic and the bottle fits nicely in my hand and my make up bag. I can be clumsy at the best of times but this glass bottle is durable and hasn’t got a scratch on it. I also like how the packaging fits with everything else in the range.
It’s enjoyable coming up with different combination ideas. Mixing your favourites. On their website, they mention good combinations to start to off, or you can contact them on Twitter or Instagram. They’re always lovely and willing to help you out.
I tried to figure out what it was before reading up on the notes and this is what I think. Moonbeam is a truly warm, yummy scent. When I first apply it, it smells slightly sweet and then becomes more floral.
On The Library of Fragrance website it days that Moonbeam opens with Vanilla and chocolate, and then combined with leaves, Jasmine, Lilly of the valley, amber and precious woods. So I can definitely see where I got the idea that it smelt yummy from.
I would really recommend going into a Boots and sampling this and the other fragrances available if you’re not sure which you’d prefer.
I did and noticed that they were great whether you were buying them anyone or any age. As there is such a great selection to choose from. For example, when I sampled the Grass fragrance it made me think of freshly cut grass in the summer. Without the hay fever.
Library of Fragrance are Cruelty-Free and all of their products are Vegan-Friendly. Even the cologne that sounds like they aren’t, such as Beeswax.
I even started a list of the ones I wanted to buy next and I think the first one will be Thunderstorm. As I’m still thinking about it. I will definitely be purchasing another bottle for myself and for a gift in the future. I think it would be great to get a friend who loves books the Paperback fragrance.
Have you tried any other scents you’d recommend that I try?
They are £15 for 30ml/ 1 fl oz and £10 for the 15ml, and available to buy on The Library of Fragrance website and at Boots. At the moment at Boots, they have a 2 for £25 offer.
