Dr Botanicals contacted me a few weeks ago and asked me if I’d like to try some of their products to review them and I said, “Yes please.” as they sounded great. A London-based brand that’s cruelty-free and vegan with a range that is based on 100% natural ingredients and all Paraben and harmful preservative free. Of course, I had to try it out.
On the 26th August, I received the package and didn’t know what to expect when I opened it. If you saw my Snapchat at the time you’ll have seen me sticking my nose into the products constantly. I just adored the smells instantly. That was my first impression, smelling gorgeous, natural and very luxurious.
Since then I’ve been using them every day to see what they’re made of.

Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
When I first tried it out I noticed that unlike other oils I’d tried it was a thinner consistency and I wondered if this meant that it would last longer because of it and I have noticed that I’m using less that I thought I would. The formula is also drier than I expected. That is to say that it’s not greasy feeling and feels as if my skin is drinking it up once it’s applied which is lovely. This also encourages me to pat it into the skin rather than spread it over my skin as I’ve found this the best way to apply it.
I tried using it twice a day to see how it did with my combination skin and it was okay for the first day but afterwards, I broke out. I didn’t know if it was just this or not so I started applying it only at night and found it did a great job. So, I’ve been using it every night since it arrived. After cleansing my skin and before any moisturiser.
The smell is gorgeous!
The smell is gorgeous as I said before and is strong in fragrance. But as not everyone is a big rose or floral fan, I will say that I can’t smell it once it’s applied and I’ve put other skin care products on top.
They say that this product is for you if you have dry skin, or are concerned about fine lines and wrinkles just to name a couple. Both of which are something I am looking to deal with when it comes to my skin care.
I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin since using this every night. My skin doesn’t feel as tight during the day and dry patches on my skin have reduced. Makeup also looks better as my skin is smoother.
During the times I don’t break out normally I’ve noticed that I’m experiencing fewer breakouts than usual. Even when I do have breakouts and have used an overnight spot gel on them, this doesn’t affect it and the spot is reduced and not dry like they have been when I’ve used other oils or no oil.
I can’t say yet whether it has an effect on fine lines or wrinkles yet but the ones I notice don’t seem as noticeable as they did before. I think this is due to my skin feeling more hydrated and I don’t think about them as much as before. I’ll be very sad when this runs out.

Advanced 8-Hour Overnight Renewal Cream
Apart from the lovely citronella fragrance, the first thing I noticed was that this is more of a balm than a cream. It melts into the skin and lovely to use at night. I’ve found it especially nice applied around my eyes. As the skin around them can feel dry sometimes and I think about fine lines around my eyes as I get older.
In the morning my skin feels as though it’s more hydrated and feels more comfortable throughout the day. The more I’ve used it the more I’ve loved it.
When I had a very bad skin day I did decide not to apply it that night on my face as this feels very rich, but I still used it on the skin around my eyes. I’ve grown to love this as part of my nightly skin routine.
I was surprised when I saw the price of this on their website before I tried it. But I use so little each time that I can’t see this running out anytime soon. I’ve even tried it out on my cuticle’s a few times because it’s so good. It’s more like a balm in its consistency and application and feels lovely on the skin.
I’m really glad that I tried this out as I wouldn’t have picked it out myself. But it’s made a lovely and visible difference to my skin’s condition since I started using it over two weeks ago.
