I bought The W7 Big Bang Makeup Cracker Set online with a few other items and couldn’t wait to try it all out. It all seemed like a great bargain for £12.99 from TKMAXX when you’re getting five items of makeup. So, I couldn’t resist. As I already had another W7 eye shadow palette that became a firm favourite.
But before I rush ahead to the palette, let’s get started with the other pieces in the set,
I am a waterproof mascara girl. Otherwise, I look like a panda a few minutes later and nobody ever tells me either. So, I walk around for ages till I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror. Tres embarrassing.
Apart from this not being waterproof, I loved this mascara. It looks just like a more expensive mascara from a famous, non-cruelty-free, brand and it behaves the same way as well. It’s a great dupe for it.
The eyeliner is incredibly opaque and gets the job done nicely. The formula is smooth and lasts well. Although, I always like to set mine with powder to reduce the aforementioned panda eye look.
Scarlet Fever lipstick packs a real punch. It has a very cute W7 on the bullet that’ll disappear after a few uses but is a really lovely touch. The formula is smooth and creamy but best applied with a brush for precision. It lasts well and doesn’t leave a terrible stain on the lips at the end of the day. True to colour, it leans more on the warmer end of the spectrum.
I was the most excited to try the twist up lip liner when it arrived. I used to love Rimmel’s East End Snob but didn’t buy it again as it’s not cruelty-free. It became very difficult to find an affordable cruelty-free dupe. This is the best one I’ve tried since. It’s easy to apply, a lovely formula and great for keeping in my bag. I’ve worn it alone or under other lip products and I’m already trying to figure out where I’ll find a replacement for when it inevitably runs out.
I love the packaging of W7’s eyeshadow palettes. The tin is not only east to keep clean but very hardy. I’ve dropped it a fair few times and it doesn’t show it. The colours are very pretty and work well together. They’re very smooth and the shimmery ones don’t have any big chunks of glitter. Which I can’t stand.
I’ve loved wearing these shades every day. They’ll be great for the transition into spring as well as for the winter. I’d have paid the £12.99 just for this palette alone.
I love this set and would definitely buy The W7 Big Bang Makeup Cracker Set as a gift for someone. Whether they are a fully fledged makeup addict or a beginner. Every item inside is lovely and would work well for so many skin tones.
P.S I checked today and TKMAXX still has it on their website.
