If you saw my post ‘Time for a Change‘ or my ‘Update‘ video on YouTube, you’ll be aware that I’m now focussing on finding natural, cruelty-free beauty products. Not ones that are full of nasty chemicals that I can’t pronounce. So, when I was contacted and asked if I’d like to try some products available on Botanical Brands (Organic & Natural Beauty Website), I jumped at the chance. As I’ve been wanting to try natural products to help as I struggle with acne-prone, oily and dry skin.
Troublesome in a nutshell.
Living Nature Manuka Honey Gel
Something I’m always sure to have in my skin care arsenal… is Spot Gel. The idea of a natural spot gel intrigued me.
The gel is described as “soothing” and containing Active Manuka Honey and Manuka Oil, to help cleanse, soothe and heal the skin. Something that really appeals to me. As I get acne, then dry skin around the breakout and redness after it’s gone.
The clear gel formula has a clean and floral scent. Which lingers after you’ve applied it. Which was okay when I applied makeup, as the scent wasn’t so noticeable. But I preferred to apply this at night because of it. But if you really like the fragrance, you can apply it whenever you like.
It didn’t dry out my skin, which I liked and I loved the fact there weren’t any nasty chemicals in the gel. It’s also the perfect size for travel.
However, as I can frequently have bad acne, this didn’t seem aggressive enough to get rid of the spots as I would like. So, I gave it to a family member to try. As their skin isn’t as bad as mine and they get the odd spot.
It seemed to work for them. Although they mentioned the smell, they didn’t say it was bad and they are still using it. As you only have to apply a little.
So, if you have trouble with the odd spot, this will probably work better for you, than it did for me.

Botanicals Revitalising Mask with Rose Clay & Rosehip
35g / £20
As I said before, I get dry skin, as well as oily skin. I’ve also loved clay masks in the past and also loving the rosehip products I’ve been trying. So, this mask really appealed to me.
On the website, it says that the “soft French Rose Clay helps draw out impurities and eliminate dead skin cells.“. While the “Cold-pressed Rosehip and Jojoba, rich in essential fatty acids, leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and visibly brighter.“.
I love the smell of this mask. Even on my face, I get a hint of rose (Yes, I’m wearing it now as I type). It’s really relaxing and feels indulgent to use.
In the glass jar, it looks like it might be difficult to work with. But I only have to use a tiny amount and it softens to easily applied to the skin.
I set a timer for 10 minutes and let it do its thing, while I do something else. Such as, write or absolutely nothing. There are no rules but your own when it comes to that.
Then, I remove it with a warm cloth or flannel. Or, if I haven’t got one, warm water and removing it gently with my hand does the job.
My skin feels smoother, more hydrated and looking so much better. This is easily my favourite product of the two and would be a great gift for someone to treat them.
From seeing the lovely packaging on my shelf to after washing it off, I feel as though my skin has had a real treat. I’d try and keep this going for as long as possible, but as it’s natural it also has a best before date. But that’s also one of the big things I love about this product. That it is natural. I’m not worried about what chemicals I’m absorbing into my body while I’m using it.
I and my skin are loving it and would highly recommend it.
